The residence owned by Caleb Farley, a Tennessee Titans player, was the site of a fatal explosion late Monday. This has been confirmed by officials who also noted that Farley’s father, Robert Matthew Farley, aged 61, tragically died in the incident. According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, the blast occurred in Mooresville just before midnight.

The sheriff’s office has ruled out any foul play and is not suspecting it. Caleb Farley, a 24-year-old cornerback who was picked by the Titans in 2021, was absent from the house at the time of the explosion.
Kent Greene, the director of fire services and emergency management, informed reporters that a natural gas issue could possibly be the cause of the catastrophe. However, they are in the midst of the ongoing investigation process to confirm the same.

According to Greene, one of Caleb Farley’s friends also sustained injuries in the event. On the arrival of the fire officials, the person was found exiting the premises and fortunately, his injuries were not life-threatening. The person reportedly suffered a concussion due to the explosion, as mentioned by Greene.
Robert Farley, who resided at the house was found deceased in the rubble around 4:30 a.m., Greene mentioned. Greene along with the officials stated that they presume Robert Farley to be Caleb Farley’s father, a news that was also reportedly mentioned in the Titans’ website’s news section.

Dominion Energy, the utility company expressed their ongoing support in the investigation alongside the emergency officials. The firm also extended their heartfelt condolences to those impacted by the incident.

“Caleb Farley and his family are very much in our thoughts,” said Mike Vrabel, the head coach of the Titans. He emphasized to journalists on Tuesday the important role of providing support to Caleb and his family during this tough time.
NBC affiliate, WCNC of Charlotte, reported a statement from a neighbor who experienced the explosion around midnight, which had shaken their home.
The reason for this explosion is still being investigated. With approximately 50,000 residents, Mooresville is situated 25 miles north of Charlotte.
