According to a news agency report, Sri Lankan car manufacturing company Ideal Motors will launch the country’s first indigenously produced electric vehicle ‘Moksha’ in November this year. It is priced at a little less than 45 lakh Sri Lankan rupees.

Similar to the popular Aston Mini Mock, the ‘Ideal Moksha’ will be a fully air-conditioned vehicle with push start and alloy wheels. The vehicle will also feature Apple CarPlay and a 7-inch multimedia touchscreen that will allow passengers to access maps, music and information.

Nalin Welgama, chairman of Ideal Motors, disclosed that the said vehicle’s 22.46 KW lithium battery will be able to run up to 200 kilometers on a single charge from a 15 amp domestic charger.

He added that the battery will have a 5-year warranty and is made in Sri Lanka. Welgama is confident that his car will make Sri Lanka a car exporting country, which will bring decent foreign exchange and improve the country’s economy.
